If the "Show Desktop" icon gets deleted by accident from your "Quick Launch" area, here's how to fix it.

"Right click" anywhere on your "Desktop" and scroll to "New" then "Text Document"
Now open the new document and copy and paste the following below into it.

Code:
[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Now click "File" then "Save As"
"On the Save as type" drop down and change it to "All Files"
and name it      Show Desktop.scf    and click "Save"

Now simply drag and drop the icon back onto "Quick Launch" bar.

The alternate path to save the file is:

%UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\InternetExplorer\Quick

"Right Click" anywhere on your "Desktop" and select "Personalize"

Now select "Desktop Items" and "Restore" the icon's you want to display.
